Mt Maunganui 1951
This captivating framed print transports you to the picturesque coastline of "The Mount" in 1951, capturing its serene beauty before the surge in population. Back then, Mauao Mount Maunganui, Tauranga, was home to fewer than 2000 residents. The establishment of a deep-water port in the 1960s and the Harbour Bridge in the 1980s fuelled the Mount's population to what it is today.
The photograph, taken by Whites Aviation, is part of their renowned series of aerial photography and aviation history publications, offering a captivating glimpse into Aotearoa New Zealand's past.
